AVA NEEDS HELP!!!!

Although I couldn't seem to feed her enough, Ava has been slowly losing weight over the last few weeks.  Her symptoms weren't anything to be overly concerned about, actually she had no symptoms except for the weight loss.  We ran a GI panel to rule out liver or kidney disease - NOTHING, we ran a senior blood panel to rule out anything else abnormal - NOTHING, we did fecal tests - NOTHING, X- rays - NOTHING but when she started throwing up everything she ate on Monday I decided to do an ultra sound and there it was - a liniar obstruction in her intestines!!  There was no question she had to have surgery and FAST.  Ava is a very lucky girl, most often intestinal obstructions will kill a dog within a few days.  Even my vet was amazed that she wasn't presenting the symptoms of a dog who had an intestinal obstruction and was still alive.  She is very critical and we won't know for 7 - 10 days if she is going to even make it but I know Ava is a much loved, strong, willful, happy girl so she will fight and I will be there everyday cheering her on to keep fighting!!  My vet is hopeful, he says there is a 75% chance she will make it.

Life is unpredictable which I have grown accustomed to handling but as a rescue, I am never financially prepared for something as unexpected as emergency surgery.  Ava will be hospitalized until at least Monday, the total cost is enough to give me an intestinal obstruction ($3000 - $4000)!!

I don't often go outside my regular network of supporter's for donations but for this I have no choice.  I need help, Ava needs help!  Please consider making a donation toward's Ava's medical care.  Anything at all, accumulative it all helps.  You may donate one of four ways

1.  direct to pay pal using this email address (please send as a "GIFT" so no fees are taken out

2. directly through our web site - www.muttmatchla.org

3. check made out and sent to:

Of course donations are tax deductible.  I would also LOVE to find a foster even if it's temporary while Ava recovers, some place peaceful and loving.  I am happy to have her back home with me but she would probably rest more peacefully some place where there aren't so many dogs.  Ava is good with other friendly dogs, not sure about cats and as a Boxer LOVES her humans.

Thank you in advance for helping me help sweet Ava!

Kind regards,
