HAPPILY EVER AFTER STORIES

Check out the beautiful photos and stories we have had the honor of witnessing over the years. Send us your family photo and story so we can add it to our board. ghettorescue@gmail.com

From left to right  - Shelby, Odin, and Wednesday. Shelby and Odin were rescued out of Los Angeles Shelters at about 5 months old. Wednesday was homeless living in Nickerson Garden Housing Project in Watts, CA. She was barely three months old when she was found lying in the gutter. Now they are a family in every sense of the word. They enjoy long naps, hiking, running, and a variety of treats, although Shelby is more picky than Odin or Wednesday.

small dog on the left..Sasha found with scars on her head-4 months old-had revision (plastic) surgery and scars gone!  Adopted by Connie and lives in Dana Point with her older "sister" Runtley.  Runtley was found (2003) in a trash can at 76th and Grand with her cord attached.  bottle fed and raised and adopted by Connie too.

Connor found running on Main Street in Los Angeles, injured. Treated and adopted by Nadine.  Now he lives on the east coast with Nadine and his blind "sister" Marley.

Pee Wee rescued at 105th and Grape-had mange all over-was bald and weighed 1 lb-living outside-family relinquished him to GRFF.  Adopted in 2006 and is now the "big cheese"of the house.

Dillon- rescued on Lou Dillon street, injured-two surgeries later hes great and adopted by Lisa!  he lives with two horses...

Hank!  *named after Tom Hank's movie Castaway.  Found tied to a tree and starving.  Local ranch workers (Mira Loma area) tried to run him over for entertainment.  GRFF volunteer heard about him from her employee and went and got Hank.  Hank was so emaciated his head muscle caved in.  He was treated for mange and cared for, for several months until he could be neutered.  We networked him and were able to find him a wonderful home.  We get regular updates on good ol Hank.

Rocky!  Found on 82nd and Figueroa (about 6 months old) with a wire embedded in his neck. The wound was so old it was dripping and infected.  He also was stiff and had full blown tetanus.  When GRFF found him he started wagging his tail.  He had the will to live.  He was treated for tetanus and had neck surgery.  He ate mush-soupy dog food for a few weeks because of the lockjaw.  He recovered and grew into a beauty!  He was adopted by a wonderful couple and lives happily ever after.
